I don't have anyone who wants to accompany me on the trip, can I still come?

Yes, over the last 20 years many of our members both male and female have travelled by themselves. Nubian Ski is a friendly group and very inclusive. Don't just take our word for it, ask any of our members.

How many members typically travel with the group?

Accepted Answer

It varies from trip to trip, but anything from 40-70 members typically come with us each year.

Who is the National Brotherhood of Snowsports?

Accepted Answer

The National Brotherhood of Snowsports, a US African-American snow sports group which was formed back in 1973 with an objective of encouraging people of colour to ski and snowboard. They also have a programme that supports young African American skiers and boarders to reach the Winter Olympics team.

Where will you be travelling in 2027? And what are the dates?

We will be travelling to Japan for 10 nights after the ski resort we will head for Tokyo.
(Dates: 28 February +1 day – 10 March 2027)

Will I be the only beginner on the trip?

Absolutely not, a quarter to a third of the group most years are first time skiers or snowboarders.

What does the holiday price include?

Accepted Answer

The cost of the holiday is based on two people sharing and includes, all scheduled flights, transfers, accommodation and breakfast in the ski resort.

What other costs should I budget for?

Accepted Answer

Ski Pack & Ski equipment hire (should you need any ski equipment), ski lessons (should you need lesson). You should budget for around £200 - £800 depending on what you need and how experience you are. You will also need to budget for some meals and group activities that are optional.

Can I have my own room?

Yes, but a single person supplement will be applied to the cost of your holiday. (Price available on application)

If I come on the holiday by myself, will I be penalised by having to pay a single person supplement?

No, Nubian Ski will pay the single person supplement should there be an odd number.

Who will I share with?

Accepted Answer

You will share with another Nubian Ski member of the same gender. However, if you would like to share with a Nubian Ski member that you know, just let us know.

Can I pay for the holiday in instalments?

Yes, we have a monthly payment schedule.

How do I pay for the holiday?

Accepted Answer

Payments for the holiday can be paid for by cash, credit card, debit card, bank transfer or PayPal. Charges of between 2% and 4% will be added if payments are made by credit card or PayPal.

Does this Ski pack costs need to be paid up front?

No, payment for the ski pack is normally paid for around 6 weeks before departure.

Can young children come on the holiday?

The trip is largely made up of adults and travel predominantly to North America & Japan. However, there is no reason why you can't travel with young children should you wish to.

Will there be a chance to take some ski lessons before I travel?

Yes, we organise ski lessons at one of the UK Indoor Ski centres. This normally takes place in January or February before our trip.
